With the release of the iPhone 5, Apple took the decision to increase the size of its smartphone’s display, while at the same time retaining the ability to easily hold it in one hand. Even so, other smartphone manufacturers have continued to make larger-display smartphones, to the point where the iPhone can look quite small next to the competition. So it may not surprise you to discover Apple is considering introducing much larger versions of the iPhone. Where as the current model sports a 4-inch display, we could now see versions hitting the market with screen sizes of 4.7 to even 5.7-inches respectively.Other rumors as collected together by Reuters include iPhones in a range of different colors, and the return of talk about a $99 iPhone to cater for the rest of the market today’s premium iPhone doesn’t target. One of Apple’s biggest problems is the sheer number and range of smartphones its competitors have available. Is the right response to play them at their own game?If the above rumors are true, then next year we could have four models of iPhone on the market. The typical 4-inch premium model, a 4.7-inch model, a 5.7-inch model, and a $99 iPhone of some form. On top of that, you may also be able to get all those phones in a range of colors. That would certainly give consumers wanting an iPhone a lot more choice.Of course, Apple isn’t commenting on such predictions and won’t until it is ready to announce something new. The reaction to such moves would also be seen as Apple rolling out more models as a response to growing competition, which the company definitely doesn’t want.
